U-Sleep aims to keep truckers alert, safe

A web-based software, U-Sleep, has been released for truckers’ use. It tracks the use of therapeutic devices designated for those suffering from sleep apnea and whether the patients are getting effective treatment.

U-Sleep, web-based software that tracks drivers’ use of therapeutic devices in the treatment of sleep apnea, was released Tuesday, said Umbian Inc. The company conducted several months of trials in conjunction with The Snore Shop, a Nova Scotia chain

Truckers have been reacting with mixed attitudes. Some admitted that their life has improved whilst others are uneasy about being monitered by their employers. It is expected this technology to be adapted by public transportation, aviation, marine and rail industries.
