A new trial is being conducted with a hypoglossal nerve stimulator that conducts electric shock in order to stimulate the patient to breathe.

College of Wisconsin Sleep Disorders Program, discusses a clinical trial for sleep apnea, in which a surgically implanted device stimulates the tongue. TMJ4.

Those who have had surgery , have tried the CPAP machine etc this could be another option to look into, once the study is done and approved .
